What’s even worse are commercials with a loud car crash sound in it when you’re driving … sounds so real that you’re waiting for the aftermath.

For supplementary information about almost anything under the sun you can’t go past ABC Radio National.

Whether your interests are books, arts, science, history, health and the mind and more there is a program that presents interesting and up to date information. And if you like what you hear you can generally get a podcast to listen again.

Yes I am getting old but my daughter (21) has taken to several of the programs I like a well.

So give it a listen.

Mind you I listen to TripleJ and the local ABC as well as podcasts in the car. Rarely watch TV, and live on the internet.

I am always amazed when I hear how many ads there are on commercial radio (when my daughter has control of the station selection).

I don’t see radio ads providing me with useful information any more as my first choice is always the internet….

I agree – a lot of media, and advertisers insult our intelligence with their yelling (!)

I think the answer is Triple J, it’s the only station I can listen to without feeling angry…

No dribble, no competitions on who can drop their pants the longest, no yelling and no lie detector tests on minors.
